Origin Story

Our story begins with Joe and Mike working for the villainous Toy Monger!  Toy Monger cares only about his message. But Joe and Mike care about the kids, care about the collectors.  They tell stories and adventures of each wonderful action figure. But Toy Monger doesn’t care That Joe and Mike wonderful friends that come into the store over and over again. Toy Monger doesn’t care that their store is the best in the region.  Toy Monger doesn’t care that their store was practically the best in the country.  So Mike and Joe are forced to leave…

Luckily they stayed in touch.  They journeyed far and wide to where travelers and collectors gathered to tell stories, argue theories, and demonstrate tests of knowledge of their heroes.  You may have seen them around at comic-cons and toy shows.  And it was on one fateful date that a poor lost traveler, was searching, and searching, and searching for the most rare of prizes.  Store after store, con after con, and booth after booth, walking away with his head down and practically with tears in his eyes.  And Mike and Joe said to each other, “We know of such a prize.  We know another traveler, like you, who would be willing to part with said prize.  Shall we talk to this sad soul?  See if we can raise his spirits?

They introduced themselves and let the man know they might be able to help find his treasured prize.  He was so grateful and so delighted his energy was the start of their wonderful journey.  They continued to connect people, they continued to draw people together, they continued to share other treasured prizes with other worthy collectors/travelers.

So in their repeated adventures with joining collector with prize, they realized, “We could help a lot of people.  We will have a place, a place where weary travelers can come, gather, bring prizes of great value and find their own prizes too.”

About You

Yes, this is supposed to be “About Us”, but let’s talk about you. Yes, you. You are a collector. You know what you want. Right down to the patent-pending stamp on the right buttock of the original GI Joe.(It’s a real thing. The worst picture we had to take for an eBay customer.) Point being, you know exactly what you are looking for. Let Mister Wayne’s know what it is, and we’ll reach out through the force and find it for you.

Also, remember that feeling of walking into the toy store. You know the one of a kid in a toy store! The rush of adrenaline. The running away from the cart to get to that one specific isle.

We love that feeling too.

Check out the store to remember that feeling of, “Mom,can I have that?” And now, you don’t have to ask her anymore, (Unless Mike’s mom is actually working behind the counter.) You can buy it yourself, and relive that feeling of “I didn’t even know they made that!” when you see it at Mr. Wayne’s Pop Culture Collectibles.

So quit reading and go look at the cool stuff. We can’t fit it all here so make a trip to Westmont when you can. And say “Hi” to Mom. Just make sure to wear clean underwear, just in case she asks.
